Want to make a movie where you won’t be impacted by covid-19? How about space?

That’s exactly what Tom Cruise and Elon Musk are doing. Seriously – NASA has announced that the film star and tech billionaire are planning to film the first movie shot in space. It will take place aboard the International Space Station. And we thought Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible stunts were impressive!

Additional details about the Tom Cruise space movie have yet to be revealed, except that the film will be a narrative feature in the action-adventure genre.

The announcement comes after Musk’s company SpaceX announced in February that it will launch four private citizens into space to orbit around Earth at the end of next year or in early 2022.

Until then, you’ll be able to see Tom Cruise doing more crazy stunts in Mission Impossible 7, Mission Impossible 8, Top Gun: Maverick and Live, Die, Repeat and Repeat. Perhaps the most notable thing about the new Tom Cruise space movie is that it isn’t a sequel or part of a franchise!
